Executive Director: Master Builders Eastern Cape
Greg Steele is the Executive Director of East Cape Master Builders and Allied Industries Association, a position he has held for the past 25 years. He originally qualified with a National Higher Diploma in Building Surveying from the Port Elizabeth Technikon in 1987 and gained valuable industry experience in a professional Quantity Surveying practise for 11 years before he joined the Master Builders Association as its Executive Director in 1995.
Among key achievements of the Master Builders Association under Greg’s leadership have been the establishment of a successful training department to serve the needs of the Building Industry in the Eastern Cape, the formation of the MBA’s own Health and Safety and IR Departments. The MBA was also involved in the establishment of the Section 21 Company leading to the establishment of the Coega Development Corporation which has led to significant growth and confidence in the region. Greg has also served on a number of School Governing Bodies, the Eastern Cape Provincial Tender Board, P E Regional Chamber of Commerce & Industry Board, The Construction Industry Development Board, Construction Education & Training Authority as a Regional Chairman, Master Builders South Africa Board, Building Industry Bargaining Council, Building Industry Pension Fund and the Building Industry Medical Aid Fund.
